Yes, it’s correct that with the MailChimp same email address cannot optin for 2 freebies, and this is one of the biggest disadvantages of MailChimp. For building more advanced sales funnels and exploiting this option, we recommend using paid email marketing tools that can deliver this, such as ConvertKit.

So basically there is no way to to multiple freebies with mailchimp landing page. we have to use the embedded code which does require us to have a website if i understand it correctly?

Also i’m curious how you handle situation when you use 1 list and the same email trying to get 2 freebies? In that case mailchimp will show error that the name is already in the list? And the automation for the 2nd freebie won’t be triggered ?

Hi Amanda, I’ve been struggling with the best way to do this for a VERY LONG time. I want multiple blog post with multiple freebies… doing this is a little complicated with Mailchimp and Squarespace. I have a list in MailChimp setup for each blog post I do. If I want to automate these lists, then I have to go into each one and set up automation in each one… instead of having a master list with groups. If I have a master list with groups… MailChimp does not allow you to select a specific group with a pop-up lightbox form. I like having pop-up lightbox forms & I want to offer my readers multiple freebies however costs are already high with my business right now. Is it truly worth it to pay the $30 dollars a month to get ConvertKit? I’m afraid if I get ConvertKit, it will also have other complications… any advice would be great. Thank you in advance!
